Anna B. Ames Clinical Excellence Student Scholarship

Applications are due by Friday, October 23, 2020, 5:00pm

The CSRT is now accepting applications for the 2020 Anna B. Ames Clinical Excellence Student Scholarship through Friday, October 23, 2020, 5:00pm. The amount of the student scholarship is $500. Past winners cannot apply for a second time.

Anna B. Ames, CRT, lived a life of service to others as a radiographer, a founding leader of CSRT, and as a responsible and active citizen of her community. She believed that those served had a right to the best care her talents could provide. The legacy she left is a world better due to her professional competence, her responsibility to duty, her strong belief in ethical principles, and the warmth and vitality shared with all she touched.

In memory of Anna B. Ames, these qualities are being sought in others who are following similar paths of service. The CSRT Scholarship Committee will select one application who most closely follows the professional excellence emulated by Ms. Ames, specifically, clinical excellence.

Each nominee must complete and submit all application forms in one sealed packet or email to CSRT no later than the October 1st deadline. To accommodate those who are on summer break, students may have their instructors email their letters of recommendation to the CSRT office instead of postal mail, if need be. The recipient of the student grant will be announced at the CSRT Annual Conference.

ASRT Student Leadership Development Program

The SDLP has been postponed until 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In July 2020, the American Society of Radiologic Technologists made the difficult decision to not accept applications for the 2021 Student Leadership Development Program cohort due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the cancellation of the 2020 onsite Annual Governance and House of Delegates Meeting.

Additionally, the ASRT Board of Directors has extended an invitation to the 2020 SLDP cohort to attend the 2021 meeting in Reno, Nevada. Due to the logistical challenges of having two SLDP cohorts participating, including venue capacity limitations, we will not be accepting applications for a 2021 cohort. The next application process will take place in 2021 for the selection of a 2022 cohort.

For additional information, please visit www.asrt.org or contact ASRT's SDLP department at sldp@asrt.org or call 505-298-4500.
