I started my journey in 1987 when I worked at my local hospital in Cottonwood, Arizona as an ED Registrar at age 18.  This is what sparked my interest in the medical field, and landed me in a Medical Assistant program shortly thereafter.   While I worked as an M.A., I also took a phlebotomy position at NW Medical Center in Tucson.  This career evolved into the pathology department, and I was trained to be a Histotechnician.  Due to my combination of histology and MA experience, I was able to work at the U of A with an excellent team of top notch Dermatopathologists, and eventually assisted with dermatological surgeries in local dermatology practices.

In 2004, I realized that I would never make the kind of income that would put 4 children through college, so I pursued a degree in radiology at Carrington College in Phoenix, Az.  I was instantly in love with the imaging field!

In the next 5 years, I found myself as a Lead Tech for a thriving medical practice, until I moved to California in 2011, where I was hired as a Radiology Supervisor for Children’s Hospital Central California.  Currently, I have been a Radiology Manager at Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia, CA for nearly 3 years, and I oversee our Clerical Services, Radiology Aides, CT, Xray and Nuclear Medicine.

The reason that I wanted to become a member of the CSRT is that I see the organization is striving to be on the front lines of regulatory changes that affect the imaging community.  As a Radiology Manager, it is vitally important to not only be aware of proposed regulations, but to be involved so that we have a voice!  I appreciate that CSRT provides this opportunity.
