RT, CT, MR, AART, BSHCA, Rafael Rodriguez,
MRI Supervisor, Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center.
In 1999, Rafael Rodriguez began his career in Interventional Radiology and the Cath Lab at Adventist Health. Two years later, he transitioned to Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), where he was promoted to supervisor overseeing the daily operations of these modalities within the Radiology Department.
Over the next two decades, Rafael gained extensive experience performing a wide range of imaging procedures for both adults and children, including CT and MRI scans, CT angiograms, brain perfusion studies, and other advanced diagnostic exams for cardiovascular, neurological, and orthopedic conditions. He also played a key role in the acquisition of new imaging equipment, protocol development, and MRI scanner programming.
In addition to his technical expertise, Rafael became a mentor and educator to colleagues, managed departmental budgets, and conducted staff performance evaluations. He served as a clinical instructor for colleges such as CBD College, guiding students through their hospital internships. He also led regular MRI safety meetings to ensure staff remained informed and compliant with best practices.
In 2023, seeking a more flexible schedule and a shorter commute to balance his professional and family responsibilities, Rafael joined Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center. His mastery of multiple radiology disciplines, along with his ongoing commitment to continuing education, protocol development, and MRI safety training, led to his appointment as MRI Supervisor. In this role, he oversees key strategic, operational, and functional aspects of the MRI Department.
Rafael is Certified Radiologic Technologist by the California Department of Public Health and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists since 1999. In 2009 he also received AART certification in CT and MRI. Although he earned his B.A. in Health Services Administration in Washington, DC, he has local roots with an Associate of Science Degree from Pasadena City College.
Register to receive the Zoom invitation.
This meeting is for ALL MEMBERS, and we look forward to seeing you there!
